
Customs Administrator, Felixstowe – VACANCY FILLED
I am delighted to be partnering with this growing business to recruit a Customs Administrator into their freight forwarding team. A permanent, full time role with a salary of up to £30,000 per annum.
You will be responsible for the customs management and administration of all customer freight activities for their customers. Reporting to the recently appointed General Manager you will play a big part of the freight forwarding team to ensure the business remains at the top of its game and delivers on their ambitious growth plans.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and procession of import/ export customs declaration and clearance customs import/ export entry checking
- Dealing with all enquiries and queries quickly and efficiently relating to customs procedures, tariff classifications, duty rates and any other documentation requirements
- Liaise with importers / exporters and others to obtain mandatory information for import/ export entries
- Deal with custom related complaints
- Give advice to traders by phone, email and in person on customs clearance and related procedures
- Support and advise customers whilst ensuring the company is fully compliant with the requirements of HMRC and other relevant bodies.
- Submit customs declarations using simplified standard procedures
- Build relationships and rapport with new and existing customers
- Forwarding of customs release messages to clients and their representatives
- Maintain data integrity on all systems
- Liaise with key customs partners
- Engage in CPD activity to keep your knowledge on customs policies up to date
Requirements
You will ideally have previous experience in a customs administration role and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the law and regulations surrounding customs clearance requirements.
