
Financial Controller – interim
I am recruiting an Interim Financial Controller to head up a finance team for an initial six months. Full time role, £80,000 per annum in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
The role is key within their business, and you will be needed to offer both strategic and hands-on direction.
The role is with a business who is seeing significant growth in their sector and has big plans. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will support them in driving the business forward as well as the day-to-day responsibilities of the finance function.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead, engage, motivate, and develop the team by coaching, counselling, and performance managing, monitoring, and appraising job results
- Lead a Finance department (accounting, controlling, business analysis, cash management, finance projects)
- Oversee all finance, accounting, and reporting activities of the UK business units /group companies
- Ensure all financial reporting and data are following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Group standards and applicable statutory requirements
- Supervise preparation and execution of monthly financial reporting to group headquarters
- Analyse sales and profitability, cash flow, stocks, prepare detailed and substantiated comments on business activity and provide dashboards to local management
- Prepare annual budget and forecasts
- Supervise the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and related documentation
- Manage tax reporting, compliance, and communication with local tax authorities as needed to ensure compliance with local tax requirements
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of internal controls, financial confidentiality, compliance, and financial policies across the organisation
You will be an experienced Financial Controller and fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA ). You will be able to demonstrate experience of working as part of an executive team of a UK Business and have a detailed understanding of multi-site operations ideally in a business operating in lower margin service businesses, with a focus on operational excellence, efficiency and continuous improvement. To achieve success in this position, you will be bring vitality and dynamism to the role. You will ideally be use to working to tight deadlines to produce monthly management accounts and reporting at a corporate level. In addition, it is essential that you have excellent excel skills and have effective communication and influencing skills.
