Engineering Supervisor

I am excited to be working with this food manufacturing business to recruit an Engineering Supervisor. A full time role, £49,000 per annum in Norwich, Norfolk.

The company has experienced year on year growth over the last few years and they have exciting plans with increased production.

The role has become available because of recent internal promotion, and it will require you to lead and work alongside a team of engineers on food manufacturing machinery.

The position is primarily hands on with overall responsibility for production line efficiencies.

The successful applicant will be a proactive driven engineer with experience in an FMCG environment who is prepared to utilise their knowledge and experience to deliver line reliability and performance.

Responsibilities include:

  • To maintain plant, equipment, and buildings in good order by a mixture of planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance and project work.
  • To collaborate with other members of the Company on project work, modifications, problem solving & root cause analysis.
  • To consult with other Company departments as required to fulfil Company objectives.
  • Responsible for management of engineering employees on the shift, setting high standards of conduct and time keeping.
  • To assist with the Company’s administration work, ensure KPI’s are tracked & CMMS systems are maintained.
  • Ensure relevant records that are required by management are completed and kept.
  • To assist in maximising efficiencies by maintaining and repairing plant and equipment.
  • To conduct all the above in a manner such that the Company profits and plant efficiency is maximised.
  • Participate in any other activities or perform any other duties that may be outside the general remit, which will benefit the individual, department, or company.
  • Take ownership and lead health and safety objectives for yourself and others at work. Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed, and safe working practices are maintained.

Ideal candidate…

The ideal candidate will ideally have some experience in managing people combined with good hands-on knowledge preferably within an FMCG manufacturing environment.

You will be a good team player and be capable of forging solid relationships as a supervisor.

In addition, you will the ability to work on your own initiative, be self-motivated and a good problem solver.

The role could also suit someone who maybe is looking for a next step up but brings a lot of good practical experience.

The pattern of work will be four shifts (0600 to 1800) followed by four rest days.
